I bought Samsung tablet s5e last week to replace Samsung tablet s2 8 inches. As I travel a lot I always want a small and light tablet and s2 8 inches served for the purpose very well. However, when I saw the ad of s5e, I decided to have the ond as it is not bulky or heavy at all. I am using the tablet for my personal daily work such as email, networking and internet browsing/shopping, the s5e with bigger screen yet lighter/faster makes my life easier. By the way, I have a laptop for work.

Absolutely fantastic table. Super thin. you need the original Samsung keyboard cover to make use of DEX and use this with laptop like features (about GBP120, but not available with Amzon UK at the time of my purchase).Has adaptive fast charging just like in S10+. Love the side fingerprint sensor in the power button, sadly missed in the predecessor (Tab S4). Screen is fantastic, best of AMOLED. Speakers are surprisingly loud and clear for a tablet this thin. You have to use to believe!

Superb screen/picture, sound, and endless helpful features are in abundance in the extremely thin Tab S5e LTE. Yes, as well as a zippy lag-free performance, it makes and receives phone calls too. Indeed, it does everything I expected of it and more, but the gob smacking sound from the onboard AKG tuned dolby atmos quad speakers is a huge surprise; they are truly almighty in their richness and ability to further immerse me into the gorgeous screen. The Windows 10-like desktop feature makes the Tab S5e a productive as well as a compelling entertainment thriller. In many ways, the Huawei Mediapad M5 10.8 is just as good as this newbie, but its Pro iteration has the advantage of a stylus. Anyway, this is truly an excellent performer from Samsung, and the price is about right, too; media excellence in paper-thin tablet form. Expect to be as thrilled as I am.

I should point out that I was lent one of these to review. I don’t know if I would buy one. It is in almost every way a fantastic piece of equipment — but it has a few minor niggles, and one enormous, show-stopping drawback; But good points first…- It looks and feels just right. The finish is nice-looking and not slippy. The case has thin bezels, so it’s only a little bigger than its screen. And, wow, is it light — every other 10″ tablet feels like a boat anchor compared to this. It really does live up to the advertising hype in this respect- The screen is bright and colourful, and of a respectable pixel density- The DEX interface is perfect — the ordinary interface just looks completely 90s after DEX. You don’t need an external monitor to use it — the screen is large enough and of high enough resolution that it works just fine. However, it does work with an external monitor (and keyboard and mouse) as well. I would like to run DEX on my desktop computer, to be honest- Although the CPU is modest by modern standards, it seems fast enough for media and general web browsing. I don’t play games, so I can’t comment on that side of things.- It’s reasonably priced compared to the S4, with which it can compete on even terms in most areasNow the minor niggles…- No wired headphone jack. Sigh.- It can get a bit stuttery with lots of apps running- Switching into and out of DEX mode is very slow- Some apps give warnings in DEX mode about not being compatible, and then go on to work fine- Most places are selling it with a stupid ‘cash-back’ deal rather than just pricing it properly to start withAnd, finally, the real problem — all the bloatware. This is painfully close to a deal-breaker for me. This tablet is supplied with the largest amount of pointless cruft on any computer device I’ve ever used. Worse, most of it can’t even be disabled, let alone removed. Some of it is highly invasive, notably Bixby. The ‘Bixby Home’ app can be removed from the user interface, but that doesn’t stop the app running in the background. Amazingly, Bixby says that it needs to share your data with other businesses, like Uber, in order to work properly. That’s not going to happen — not on my watch. So although I can’t use it, it’s still running. In fact, there’s a whole heap of stuff running in the background that I can’t even identify. I wonder how much faster the tablet would work, if that stuff wasn’t sitting there, pointlessly eating memory? This is a real shame, because it turns a product that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, into one that i probably wouldn’t buy. I’d certainly have to think hard about whether I would want to use a tablet that is running a whole slew of scarcely-identifiable apps, doing goodness-knows-what with my personal data.
