Loved this watch until today! Great delivery time and arrived in good working order. As of today I cannot open the Huawei Health App as an update is required for the Huawei Mobile Services app. You cannot download the required update from the Google Play Store. You instead have to download from an unlisted Huawei service that requires excessive data permissions. This means the Huawei Health app does not even open. This watch will no longer communicate with my 2019 phone, somewhat devaluing it! All feels like a scam! I would not recommend this product until this is sorted.

You need the app to use device. I use Google Pixel 2 XL. I went to Play Store to install Huawei Health app. Upon starting, it asks for Huawei Mobile Services version 4. When I searched for it on Google Play, they only have version 3. After installing version 3, Huawei Health app still does not work and displays the same message. A workaround is described, and this is installing the app through Huawei App Gallery which is app store from Huawei. For this to work you need to enable installation of 3rd party apps. It doesn’t go through Google’s security scans. I’m not sure if this situation is due to US ban on Huawei. So even though the device looks good, you can only use it if you feel okay sending your data to China to a guy called Xi Jinping. Be aware. Probably not suitable for security personnel, officials..

Don’t use it for fitness but more for keeping an eye on my heart rate after a heart attack a couple of months ago. As my medication is constantly changing its handy to keep an eye on its effect. The sensors are pretty accurate and tend to be spot on with the ones used by my gp and hospital. Will probably replace with magic watch 2 as I prefer a watch but a brilliant bit of kit for the money. As for those concerned with the level of information the app requires, it is a smart device and needs access to some information to work properly the Chinese government probably doesn’t care if my wife wants me to buy bread on the way home so I suspect I am safe.

This is the best £30 I have spent on ClickElectronics. I bought it as a gift and ordered another after looking at it and setting it up. Fantastic value for money, it does everything and more that I expected of it. It is so comfortable and you wouldn’t even know you had it on. The build is fantastic and with the latest software update it’s just even better. The charging cradle is a bit hard to get used to, but after a few times you could do it blindfolded!

Getting the App on Android was painful.

For the price you can’t grumble. Does everything as advertised.Getting the app on Android however was a painful experience. Firstly it will not install from the playstore. After some googling you have to download Hauwei’s own app store from their website then install the health app from within that. To be honest it was straight forward, but the time spent trying to figure all this out was frustrating, and there’s no mention of this requirement in the instructions or here on ClickElectronics. It doesn’t have a great Bluetooth range. If I leave my phone in one room, it will inevitably lose connection making the ‘find phone’ function useless.Battery life is great. I bought this mainly to monitor my sleep which I can’t do with my expensive Samsung smart watch as it needs charged overnight.Another annoyance is the limited exercises. Walk, run, cycle, and that’s your lot. There’s no ability to add ‘other’ such as fitness class. Finally, if you have poor eyesight and struggle to read cooking instructions on food lables, like I do, you’ll struggle to read notifications or even the date as the text is so small in many areas. To conclude, once you figure out how to get the app on your phone, for the price this is a great little monitor that’s probably sending all your personal info to the Chinese government, hahaha!

    A fantastic buy!

DO NOT BUY! don’t buy this watch if you have a samsung. In order to connect the watch to your phone you need Huawei health. As soon as you download this app it tells you, you need to update it but in order to do that you need Huawei Mobile services. I tried downloading this, but it isnt compatible with my phone so now I have a band which cant link to my phone. Was really excited to use it when I saw it but disappointed when I couldnt get it to work! The watch looks like it could be really good but because I cant connect it to my phone, its completely useless.
