There is an issue with the lens delivered to me. It makes wobbly noise even if not connected with Camera. It doesn’t focus well.I have read so many good reviews about this product, it’s a sheer disappointment. I’ve got my money wasted on this defected piece of lens.Worst purchase ever!

I was very excited to receive this lens – the reviews were great. I received the lens about a week ago and took a few shots of my sons baseball game – the picture quality is wonderful! However, I have been noticing issues with the autofocus. Im using the lens on my Nikon D7100 and this is the first non-Nikon brand lens Ive tried. I have had no issues with autofocus on any other of the lenses I own. When focusing on objects that are progressively further away, the autofocus works fine. However in the opposite direction, as I focus on objects that are progressively closer, the autofocus stops working at about the 5m mark. If I manually adjust the focus ring to its minimum position and then try to focus on the object, it seems to work just for that instance. Im hoping someone from Tamron sees this review and can offer some help as to whats going on. I contacted the company that handles Tamron warranty in Canada, but they wont honour any warranty of lenses purchased through ClickElectronics.ca. I may have to exchange the lens for another to determine if the one I received is a lemon.

I was hesitant on buying this lens and it is not Nikon, but after reading reviews from different sources I decided to buy one and do not regret it. The quality is amazing and highly recommend buying it if you still think about it.

The lens is amazing and internal zooming (does not change length for zoom) makes this lens a winner. The reach is good, 200mm really help fill your frame and 70mm is wide enough for a lot of shots. The sharpness is quite good, I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality and build. Opening the aperture to f/2.8 provides a lot of opportunity and the bokeh was pleasantly beautiful. Needed to buy the Tap-In console to update the firmware for Z7, but have more than 1 Tamron lens, so that worked out (and will be buying more Tamron glass). Recommended.

This lens was over $500 cheaper through ClickElectronics.ca than it was at my local camera store. I had been humming and hawing about purchasing a 70-200mm f2.8 lens for awhile because of the incredible images you can capture with one, especially due to the compression! I shoot with Nikon and love my camera and my Nkkor lenses, however, I could not justify the $3600 price tag on the Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 when this one comes in around $1500! It’s definitely lighter than the Sigma version, it’s tack sharp, focuses quick and it’s very silent! It’s even weather sealed like the Nikon and Sigma brand lenses, what more could you want in a lens!? Overall I would highly recommend purchasing this lens and I will definitely be purchasing the other 2 Tamron lenses to make up the holy trinity for my kit! I’ve attached a few images from a shoot at my local BMW dealership recently! I hope this review helps some of you!

Beautifully built, tactile feel in the hands is excellent, sharp, great resolution and colour rendition, and thoutful integration of Arca Swiss compatible tripod mounting plate.Only criticism is that the vibration control and autofocus buttons sit slightly proud of the main barrel of the lens and can be easily moved to a different position or off in the case of the AF/MF button (particularly if your camera is slung over your shoulder, hanging to your side against your body). Can be temporarily alarming when looking through the viewfinder and autofocus seemingly isn’t working on your camera. Obviously, easily corrected and nothing significant enough to detract from a high rating. Maybe one of the best value lenses today on the market.

I had high hopes for this lens as it is a great price for a fast 70-200 lens. Unfortunately after looking at some of my initial photos i noticed that the image was soft on the left side. I tested the lens with a calibration test sheet and discovered that the center and right side were remarkably sharp, but the left side indeed was out of focus. This cannot be fixed and is called lens de-centering, where one or more of the lens elements isn’t perfectly aligned with the others. Lens was returned back to ClickElectronics. I love their return policy!
