It is easily one of the best E-Mount Lens in the market that is no Sony-branded. The brand should not matter because it just a name and does not serve a useful purpose, it is the actual product, the build, the quality. The quality is exceptional, the photo came up very beautifully. The turning of lens focus dial was very satisfying, very smooth. Though I wished the warranty would work in Canada, however the trade-off of this is having a very affordable price taking a bet that this would last a long long time. The affordability of these “high level” lens makes it worth it to trade the warranty for an affordable price, and get another (improved) lens years and years later if it breaks.

I’m slowly completing my trinity combo with the addition of the 17-28mm. I have the 28-70mm from Tamron and it is a great lens as well. The 17-28mm is wide enough for my landscape needs. I find myself using the widest 17mm a lot but as always end up cropping in post for better composition. But it’s a me problem, and probably should frame and compose tighter in camera. This lens tends to be on my camera the most unless I know i’m gonna be shooting a bit of everything and the 28-70mm comes out instead. Will most likely add the 70-200mm from Tamron in the future because I’m happy with my Tamrons so far!

Amazing lens for my Sony A7III! Great for real estate photography, landscapes, and anything else you need an ultra-wide (but not fisheye) zoom lens for.Aperture is fast, autofocus works wonders, and the build quality is fantastic. I would definitely recommend buying a this lens over Sony’s 16-35mm F2.8 which is more than twice the price of this lens. Use the extra cash to buy the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 instead!I do wish Tamron had gone with the 16-35mm focal range rather than 17-28mm, but it does make a perfect companion for my Tamron 28-75mm.

A cracking little lens for Landscape images. For 25 years I shot with Canon cameras and various lenses ( mainly primes ). I supply stock agencies and that entails a lot of post process work including the keywording and image tidy up including sharpening and levels etc. Canon havn’t really seemed to of moved on with their cameras for the past 5 years, so I took the plunge and moved to Sony cameras. After 6 months of research I bought a Sony A7RIII and this lens. I am blown away by the sharpness and tonal range of this combination. My workflow time has almost halved as a consequence which is a major benefit too. As an example, the image of the lighthouse and a storm was a single shot, only the levels were adjusted for certain parts of the image. There is very little in the way of wide-angle distortion and barely noticeable Chromatic Aberration. In conclusion, if you are a landscaper and you have a Sony A7RIII there is negligible image difference between this lens and a Sony G Master and at nearly a third of the price, whats not to like ?

Nothing new to say about this lens it’s all been well documented before now. It’s a superb beautifully sharp lens with a fantastic viewing angle. The fact that it integrates so perfectly with the Sony system is just the icing on the cake.Partners perfectly with the Tamron 28-75mm.
