  1. Susie moore

I’m not sure if my lens were checked before sending or it was a copy that someone didn’t like it cos I found 2 fingerprints on the front glass along dust… anyway it’s very good lens and I like it, quality of picture is great,I need to learn more about it but my first impressions was very positive, so yes I would recommend it,it won’t be used all over the time but definitely I’ll have it often for use.Im still learning this lens and can’t wait to use them again.

  2. U. Becker

Not sure what the differences are with the contemporary and the sports lens regarding picture quality, the contemporary that I bought on a D810 takes fabulously sharp photos, I have not had to use the dock to tweak the calibration as I have found it sharp at 4m up to pics of the moon. Glad I opted for the C version as it is light enough to hand hold and get usable shots.

  3. Meatheed

Seems to be an excellent lens , using it on a D750 with a 1.4 converter. Easy to handhold and get sharp shots when using over 1/ 1.000 second. Not too heavy to carry around, quick auto focus and seems well built

  4. Raven Poe

Absolutely love this lens the sharpness is phenomenal what I have taken so far, waiting for the dock to come today as have read they the firmware update has sped up the auto focus but straight out the box it’s a cracking lens.

  5. Chris Worth

This is hands down the best lens I’ve bought in terms of value for money. I had been toying with the idea of forking out an additional few hundred for the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 but having put the Sigma through its paces, I really can’t see what more the Tamron could offer that would warrant the additional price tag. The picture quality is fantastic, there is slight softness at 600mm but it is only minor in my opinion, pixel peepers may disagree. In terms of the teleconverter, In retrospect, I would have bought the lens without it as I found the picture quality takes a definite dive when it is attached, I sold mine soon after purchasing.

  6. Birdinhome

By far the best superzoom lens I’ve ever used.I rented the Nikkor 150-600 last year, and was disappointed with the soft edges on tripod-stabilised shots.Well, with this Sigma 150-600, I’m able to shoot HANDHELD, with crisp sharp details (in daylight, anyway – wouldn’t dream of shooting handheld in low-light conditions with any zoom lens)This lens (and the Sigma 105mm Macro I also purchased at the same time) have made me a full-on Sigma lens convert! Less pricey, and (so far) better image quality than the Nikkor equivalents.Do it! You’ll be glad you did (even if a little worse-off in the pocket)

  7. Jane Donnelly

I’ve used this lens with a Nikon D750 over the past 5 months for bird photography, airshows and even moonshots and lunar eclipse. It works brilliantly with the Nikon, but what really surprised me about it is how good the image is when using the teleconveter; image degradation is minimal if at all present. One should note that the Nikon D750’s AF system is only partly usable when the teleconverter is on (not all AF points can focus at F8). I got superb images of the moon and eclipse as well as perched birds with the TC on, but at airshows I found I preferred to use just the lens without the TC, as AF struggles with fast jets when restricted by the TC and Nikon’s 3D tracking cannot be used at all with the teleconverter. Build quality is excellent, tripod collar is very useful and a padded carry case is provided for both the lens and the TC. The lens is tunable via the Sigma USB dock, and I was positively surprised that it’s not just a gimmick.

  8. Alex Stewart

Fits perfectly on my wife’s Nikon. She loves it takes amazing pictures. She tells me its a budget one, but it doesn’t act like one

  9. Theresa Kyriakos

Fantastic lens… with the 1.4x works as a 850mm lens which allows me to get brilliant wildlife pictures.

  10. WaterBaby

    Great lens
