Utter rubbish. First, the audio quality is not £100 worth better than the jabras, or £180 worth better than the Cambridge audios. Secondly the touch sensitive part is a nuisance when putting into your ear. And THIRDLY they won’t pair properly with my 18 math old Sony Bravia smart TV because sennheiser have not built in backward compatibility and by the admission of their own technical support, are not really designed for use with TVs, they are more for phones and music devices. DUH. For £300 give or take, and they can’t be bothered to make them work properly with a good quality TV? No thanks, sent back after wasting two hours of my life talking to tech support.

I have many different sets of wireless headphones from the cheap to the expensive. These are in the expensive category, in fact one of the most expensive. The sound quality is good, and you may think that this is the most important aspect. It probably is but everything else slips from there.Fit and comfort are average, not the best, not the worst but over time they become increasingly uncomfortable. I could not see myself using them on a long flight for example. My Airpods Pro are much more comfortable and my Galaxy Buds + over ten times more comfortable.Next up is the connecting. All my other wireless headphone you just need to open the case and put them on – and they connect automatically with my iPhone. These guys only do so about 40% of the time. The other 60% involves opening your Bluetooth settings and forcing a connection.Next on to the controls, I am right-handed, and I use these mostly for listening to music. Every other headphone that I own allows me to control my music on my most natural right-hand side. These are setup to use this on the left. It took me days to figure out how to swap this through the companion app.Which brings me to the last point, the app. It is frankly a waste of the space it’ll take on your phone. Its main feature is the world’s most annoying equalizer, no presets, and a fiddley analog system of changing the various controls. When you pay a premium price, you expect a premium product, and this unfortunately falls short of that.

Hand up I’m a bit auld skool and very fussy when it comes to headphones. For a long time I had no interest whatsoever in wireless buds, convincing myself that my clumsiness would see one half of the product disappear down a drain or off a train platform at some point. I was also somewhat dubious that they could sound anywhere near close to my Sennheiser Monentum’s which are terrific.I was wrong. Very very wrong. These headphones are absolutely superb. They fit my ears snugly (albeit the fit and twist technique takes a wee bit of practice). No more bulky neck band or or dangling wires, I can move around freely and the range is excellent across my house. Aside from the sublime music delivery, I also enjoy listening to audio books whilst walking and if I need to pause the audio a simple tap on the left bud provides crystal clear transparent audio to the outside world. Well done Sennheiser on that one, excellent feature. These headphones will be subject to ongoing firmware updates from Sennheiser (you’ll almost certainly be applying one already out the box) and I expect their quality to improve. But thus far, a quick EQ adjustment via the app supplies excellent bass, mid and treble. Telephony is clear, although the buds are so well hidden I’m still getting to people looking at me in the street as if I’m a deranged lunatic.Expensive, but definitely a sonic step above the AirPod Pro’s I’ve tested. Love these, can see myself using for quite a while. Glad I bought them & would recommend. As for battery, been using for 3 weeks and haven’t had to charge them since unpacking!

Disappointed with these. Sound good enough but the difference between having ANC on and off is barely noticeable to the point where the only way to tell it’s on is by checking the app toggle. They refuse to pair with my laptop for longer than 10 seconds at a time and the response from Sennheiser product support was that they are only designed for use with phones and that to use with a laptop I should purchase a £50 Sennheiser bluetooth dongle. Connectivity in general is ok but breaks up over fairly short distances (maybe 15ft max) and if a partition wall blocks the signal. App sometimes doesn’t find the connection either. Fit is good and case is lovely but I’m typing this on my laptop using old wired headphones which doesn’t sit right after paying so much for these. I guess they could potentially sort some of this in software updates but not sure I can take a gamble so may return them..28/4 – Quick update following Sennheiser’s response to my review, I returned these and purchased the Sony equivalent which work perfectly with every appliance I have , sound good and the ANC actually works. Bottom line with the Sennheiser’s is that they are overpriced and might as well not have ANC as it does nothing.

I ended up returning these due to connection issues with my S10 and Switch Lite via a Genki adapter. When they did work, fit was comfortable with good isolation (much more comfortable than the MTW1). Sound quality is very average, considering the price, and more in the league of a <£100 earbuds like the e11c. Bass is limited, even with a good seal, and sound stage is narrow with poor instrument separation. Sound signature is very similar to the MTW1, and a far cry from something like the se425.The other huge issue for me was lag. The MTW1 had aptx-ll, which tamed lag to the point they were usable across the board. The MTW2 only has aac and regular aptx. Whilst this isn't necessarily a deal breaker, and isn't something you'll notice if your video app delays sound, the MTW2 iseeffectively unusable for games.By far the biggest problem was the frequent dropouts I had with both devices I tested with. Given that I'm currently testing in lockdown conditions, this was around the house and on short walks. My commute takes me through King's Cross Station, which can be very challenging for bluetooth connections given the sheer number of competing devices, so these would suffer heavily there. This may be something that could addressed though a firmware update, but my experience with the MTW1 was that firmware updates few and rarely address significant issues. If you're looking for an upgrade from the MTW1 and don't play games, these offer improved comfort and a better charging solution (the battery drain issues appear fixed). This is balanced against connection issues and heavy lag. If you're after an audiophile grade wireless earbud suitable for general use, I'd suggest looking elsewhere (I ended up going with Shure's true wireless adapter).

I was so excited when Sennheiser announced the MTW 2 few weeks ago, having been a fan of the brand for more than 10 years and having owned the 1st Gen for about a year.Just received my pair today and so far I really like them. They are smaller than the previous version including the case. It’s not a huge difference but you’ll still notice it. The previous pair used to hurt my ears after a while (1h or so) so I’m hoping this smaller design will help, time will tell. First impressions so far, they are comfier than the original version.Sound-wise, they are excellent. I’ve seen some videos where people suggest these sound different. I don’t think so. I think they might have changed the EQ setting by default because it felt like it was lacking bass a little but I tweaked it differently on the app than the 1st Gen and still managed to achieve the exact same sound. I’ve spent some time comparing the sound between the 2 and I love the 2nd Gen as much as the 1st Gen and I’m a musician so I’m really picky when it comes to sound.Call quality has been greatly improved, I think mainly due to the new added microphones. One feature I really like, surprisingly not mentioned on this page is Sidetone. It gives you the ability to hear your voice during a call. I’ve tested it and love it, so much better than the old version. The possibility the customise controls is one of the reasons why I decided to buy this new version. I’m one of these guys that can listen to a song on repeat so much if I really like it. So having to tap 3 times to play the previous song on the old version used to drive me mad. It wouldn’t work 50% of the time. I’ve now set it on 2 taps on the right earbud and it works like charm. Shame the controls still take about 2 seconds to initiate. I would have liked that to be improved on the new version.Active Noise Cancellation is a great addition too, I think it’s good in loud environments but for people like me that listen to music quite loud (70-90%) it’s less useful. I’m going to leave it turned off as it can drain the battery faster and turn it on only if I need it.One disappointment however, is the time it takes for these to connect to my phone. They take about twice the time than 1st Gen to connect, that’s not good at all. I really hope it will be fixed in the next patches because at this price you should only get more not less.Overall really please with these. I’m glad I bought them even if they are very expensive. It might be worth the upgrade for some or not but I still think these are a great improvement compared to 1st Gen.Pros:- Sound as good as 1st Gen- Smaller size- Customisable controls- Better call quality- Sidetone feature- Longer battery life / no more draining in charging case- Active Noise Cancellation (good in loud environment)Cons:- Takes longer than 1st Gen to connect (1st Gen: 1-3 sec / 2nd Gen: 4-7 sec)- They still hurt after some time- Still a delay of 2 seconds to trigger each control- Still can’t connect to multiple devices at the same time- Would have been nice to include case battery percentage in the app- No wireless chargingEDIT 17/04/20: Unfortunately they still hurt like 1st Gen after about 1h. I find that if you twist them up a little bit when it’s sore it does help. I still love the sound though and I’m convinced that the sound remains the same or even better than 1st Gen providing you tweak the EQ a bit. It needs adding more bass than the previous version One thing I’ve also noticed is, despite the fact that you can’t pair multiple devices at the same time, the earbuds do remember the last device they were connected to. Good thing if like me you often switch from your work computer / phone. No need to repair every time either, just disconnect from the device and connect to the other one. I haven’t experienced a single disconnection, just some very short cut-off but very rarely and I’ve been walking around the flat no problem.

After a series of attempts with other true wireless earbuds, I can somewhat say; Sennheiser MTW2 are a set of premium high quality buds that check a lot of boxes, though I would say its cost is more than what I would want to pay for. They provide a great sound, like majority of Sennheiser products. The buds have quite a wide sound stage, and the bass is sufficient, imo. However for bass enthusist, these might be lacking. The first gen do seem to sound better in a certain way but I can’t seem to pin point what it is and it is not significant enough for me to, want to nit pick on it. Comfort is decent, I can wear them for two hrs without needing to give it a rest or readjustment. However if the buds were to be even lighter, they can be more comfortable and maybe I’d slap on come comply foam for more comfort? I can understand why some would complain about the earbuds and how they can be uncomfortable. The earbuds pushes against your earcanal which may cause discomfort especially if your earcanal radius is slightly smaller. Though it should be comfortable for the general public. The battery life is definitely an improvement over the first generation, with the battery draining finally resolved. I was able to get 5.5-6 hrs from one full charge. The 2mm size reduction is not as obvious as I thought. You don’t get the thump noise when wearing them, which is one thing I found awfully annoying with PNC earbuds. The ANC is good, not as good as Sony, but a whole lot better than MW07 plus. I like the darker colour of the current charging case, over the previous gen. The customizable touch controls is like the premium touch. I like how I you can swap out functions and prioritize for your convenience, which I find very important during my runs. Unfortunately its also because of this great feature, it creates a minor delay to activate the action, after your touch. I believe they can polish this feature in the future. Its not a huge issue either that would render me to not want these earbuds. Overall, these buds are a keeper for me. Its the best sounding earbud I have tried, apart from first gen. It solved somw of it’s first gen issues and made this second gen more polished. If you’re looking for a new set of premium buds, these are the ones. However is price is a factor, then these are not for you.Update: So I’ve knocked off a star for latency issues. It’s not that it occurs often, but some third party apps maybe affected. The big apps like Netflix, Youtube, ClickElectronics Prime Vid etc, don’t seem to have a problem so its a YMMV.Update: Post 4.6.0 firmware update – I’ve decided to return them now. After this update, you experience hissing white noise from the buds which I can’t seem to get rid of…. The volume seem to have gotten a bit louder or they’ve changed up the sound a bit or the anc? Something has changed and I don’t like the sound of the buds in anc mode.
