I am judging these critically as they are an expensive premium product.First the good:Regarding music quality they compare very favourably with my over the ear Sennheiser headphones that cost me £300.00 some years back. The sound quality is astonishing for such small devices. They are IP4 water resistant rated which means that rain should not be a problem. But, IP4 does not stretch to showers or immersion. They are very comfortable and it does no feel like having a couple of big pine cones stuck in my ears – I forget I have them on. (I thought they might)For me I put them in and they do not dislodge. There are good control features used by touching the cap of each ear bud. They work well and are easy to use.The battery life is good enough and they recharge quickly.Pairing with android is quick and easy. (I have not tried pairing with other devices which have Bluetooth built in). They remember the last sound settings from using the app. So when I have them set up they are how I want them if I were to use them on a PC where I don’t have an app. for them.I have not tried active noise cancellation for phone calls yet, but it works well around the house when listening to music. The Ambient setting to hear what going on around me works very well indeed. Two quick taps on the RH ear bud and three to turn noise cancelling on again. Easy and quick. They have Bluetooth 5. It will only work if the phone/tablet/PC you are using has Blutooth five too. Bluetooth five gives a much better range and vastly superior sound quality. Now the negatives:Almost a deal breaker for me: They will remember 8 pairings, but they will only pair with one device at a time. Which means they are not paired with my phone when I am using them with my tablet. Which means setting my tablet up to take calls from my phone and remembering to pair the phone with them when not using the tablet. A lot of faf. Other Sennheiser products will pair with two devices at one time. They do pair very quickly though. The equaliser on the app. is poor. There is a choice of dragging a single point around the screen, or three equaliser slides (only) which works much the same. The same app used with headphones gives me four different fixed and one custom settings. They are music in a room (they call it club), Movies and Speech and one customisation setting. The speech setting is great for phone calls. It would have been good to see this feature on this device. All in all I think they are very good indeed.

Don’t get me wrong, for a wireless experience, these did a great job in bringing much better sound and ANC over Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro. I’m a big fan of Sennheiser’s IE series, amazing sound, and that’s exactly what I was expecting with the Momentum Wireless 2s.However, connecting to Apple products is a nightmare (tried on Mac, iPad, iPhone). It seems to work perfectly fine on Android (tried them with the Nvidia Shield and they work flawless).Because of connectivity, I decided to return them as they weren’t worth the headache. If you’re in the Android ecosystem, they could work for you!

Honestly I wanted to like these so much, I was anticipating then coming out for so long. I’ll just go over the main points real quick:Sound – Amazing, honestly really impressive, likely a massive upgrade to whatever you use right now (in-ear), there is a mass of separation and space, crisp clarity and depth, feels incredible. You can pump the music quite loud and it doesn’t get overpowering or imbalance anything (sometimes I find treble gets harsh when pushing up volumes, the default EQ keeps everything nicely balance at all volumes, great!).Active Noise Cancellation – So disclaimer, I have tried ANC in circumaural headphones (SONY WH-1000XM3) and the difference was astounding. I (among many other people on the r/sennheiser sub-reddit) am finding it *extremely* difficult to notice whether ANC is even on without having to look at the app to check if the toggle is on, we’re not sure if theres a manufacturing fault, but currently there is no stock for replacements so I’m just returning, might re-try them again down the line if I find out they get fixed!Transparent Heading – Not for me but you may like it, feels to forced and weird, wasn’t a fan, but this is definitely a personal preference thing so don’t take my word here.Comfort – Horrible, I purchased some foam tips to replace the rubber ones because I couldn’t get a good seal, the foam tips definitely get me an instant easy seal, but after about 30-45mins of listening they start to ache my ears, i started wearing them backwards so they don’t rest of my ear and they still ache after a while, confusing. (lots of people seem to like it, so maybe my ears are just bad! I personally use Bose Soundsport headphones for the gym currently, and I have a pair of 1More Triple Driver earphones, and used a few others and I’ve never experienced such discomfort from in-ears before…)Connection – This was iffy – I had issues with playback jittering (every 2-3 seconds it would dropout for half a second) on locally downloaded content, I had to factory reset the device to get it to start playing smoothly on my phone, and the laptop was still playing up. They might have Bluetooth 5.1 but they do not hold connection between rooms/more than 10 ft.Battery – My first run through got 4.5hours, and I believe I had ANC on, I’d re-run them through but I can’t seem to get them charging now? God I feel like I’m moaning a lot here! I’ll use them today and return them tomorrow so I’ll update this if I remember :)It pains me to be so critical of what could be a great pair of headphones, BUT if you don’t care for ANC and the fit/comfort is okay for you, you’ll love these!

Astonishing battery life and sound quality

I currently own the AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM3, and the Powerbeats Pro. The sound quality of these TW2’s was good, and the build quality and finish felt up to par as well. It sat in my ears comfortably, with no fatigue. Soundstage felt large, and I could pick out details better than on my AirPods Pro. Bass was acceptable but nothing to write home about (the Powerbeats Pro and Sony’s were punchier and you could “feel” the rumble better, especially the PBP). I should also note that there was a light “white noise” when nothing was playing (the AirPods Pro and Sony’s also have active ANC, but no such white noise), but this did not bother me too much (your milage may vary). However, there is a *significant* delay in audio. When watching a YouTube video, the speaker and the audio are visibly out of sync. Using an audio delay test, these earbuds seem to have almost 300 ms (3/10ths of a second) of delay. My AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM3, and Powerbeats Pro all had unnoticable levels of delay (to my ears). This was tested on a 2019 Macbook Pro running Catalina. For the staggering $300 price tag, this is completely unacceptable.I believe the main reason behind this is that these TW2’s are still on a master-slave setup, whereas the other 3 wireless earbuds all maintain 2 separate Bluetooth connections to the source. With any of the other 3, I can put my right earbud back into its case and continue to listen from only the left. However, with these TW2’s, the left earbud (slave) will lose connection once the right earbud (master) is put into the case. This type of pairing is inferior, and leads to a much larger delay (presumably because the slave has to wait for the master to transmit data to it).

Good Sound, Poor ANC, Poor Connectivity
