This lens covers nearly all situations and has fantastic picture quality. If you only want one lens – this is it.

Absolutely superb lens. Way better than the kit lens I normally use. So sharp and covers most of my shots. Love it.

  6. Cherryll Campbell

I bought this for my D7200. Works well, it’s a flexible lens that gives you a good range from wide angle to zoom that means I use it for most everyday shots without needing to carry around a separate lens. The picture quality is great. It auto focuses fast and quietly, but sometimes struggles with moving subjects. A bit more pricey than third party alternatives but I think its worth paying the extra price for the quality.

  7. Patricia Hallett

I love the range of the focal length on this zoom lens. This will replace two lenses thus saving space and remove the necessity to change lenses. The lens works nicely with the Nikon D7500 making it an ideal partner. The lens is easy to use and provides clarity on the shots that I have taken.

  8. Cristal

I have only recently bought this lens, and have not had much chance to use it, but so far I’m delighted with what I’ve seen. I use it on a Nikon D500, and have been very impressed with the image quality throughout the zoom range. I had a Tamron 16-300 before this, and it was okay at certain focal lengths, and in decent light, but I was growing unhappy with the overall quality. This lens looks like a perfect match for a good walkaround combination. I have taken photos of small birds in the garden throughout the zoom range, and the sharpness is superb, and far better than I was getting with the Tamron.

  9. Mrs. G

This is simple a first class lens. My wife and I like to take family pics along with scenery and wildlife pics. Me , I like to take aircraft pics , so photographically a huge challenge. This lens delivers great results for all the above and as a result is a winner all round quality bit of kit. So flexible in use is this lens it now stays on our camera all the time removing the need for swapping and carrying different lens for each task. A genuine winner here and we are delighted with our purchase.

  10. LunchWithLions

This is Nikon’s DX format do-the-lot lens – useful wide angle to useful telephoto, never take it off your camera! Solidly made, with metal where C***n uses plastic, and unlike the C***n equivalent it does not zoom itself while pointed downwards, even with the zoom latch off… only slight downside is there is quite a lot of distortion at the wide end, most noticeable if you often photograph buildings, but the newer Nikon DSLRs can automatically correct that (I don’t have a newer DSLR yet…). The VR seems to work well when shooting at the 200mm end, giving you hand held shots sharp enough to distinguish the shallow depth of field. Only downsides, a bit hefty. This particular example seemed to be a second, with a small speck of something inside the optical train and an almost un-noticeable loss of gold on the name plate – but at 200 quid less than new retail, this is massive value!
