This keyboard is an absolute joy to type on and its almost essential to have for a surface pro. The keys feel great – not as nice as mechanical mind you, but you get nice feedback. It has 3 levels of brightness which is nice and auto-dims the lights after not using them for a bit which is helpful for battery life on your surface pro.The trackpad is very nice and smooth, and with windows precision drivers, everything feels buttery smooth when youre working. The fabric that this keyboard is made out of feels very nice and premium, however I will say that Im not sure how itll hold up over time – that remains to be seen. One thing to note is that I had purchased an identical model # from Best Buy for the same price – $169.99; Best Buys one didnt have a fingerprint sensor, while the one I received from ClickElectronics did… so obviously I kept the one with the fingerprint sensor, but Im not sure why they differ even with the same model number. None of the product pictures on ClickElectronics show a fingerprint sensor, and the reviews I looked at didnt show any fingerprint sensor. Maybe ClickElectronics made a mistake? Either way Im not complaining about getting more for the same price. Just note that it may not come with a fingerprint sensor if thats what youre looking for.

It says in the description that this has the fingerprint reader built-in but it doesn’t have the finger print reader and this is false advertising. If you don’t need the fingerprint reader go ahead and buy this but if you need the fingerprint reader buy somewhere else.

I bought this for my wife to use with her Surface Pro. I had bought her a Surface a number of years ago and it turned out to be a great unit and lasted a long time and is now being used by the kids. The new keyboard is definitely better than the one for the Surface, so the upgrade is definitely an improvement. I like the feel of the keys and while they are not the same as a regular keyboard they come close to mimicking them. However the two parts that seem like the biggest improvements are the strength of the attachment to the Surface Pro and the “mouse”. The trackpad (touchpad) eliminates any need for a mouse. While you can use the touch feature on the screen, except for gross movements of the cursor, this is of limited utility when using any program such as Word, etc. With the touch pad on the cover, nothing is lost compared to what can be done with a mouse. If you are going to use your Surface Pro for anything other than surfing the Web, you need the cover.

This is a must have accessory for your Surface Pro 6. Its a surprisingly good keyboard that gives good feedback when typing. In an era when keyboards are getting thinner and thinner with less and less travel, the keyboard cover does a fantastic job in balancing design and function. For anyone with a Surface Pro 6, this is a must have.

Loved this keyboard but after about 5/6 months it suddenly stopped working. I tried everything microsoft and the internet had to offer in order to make it work again but no luck. I’m about to go to back to school and so the fact it died makes me upset and anxious. It’s possible mine was just faulty as i have been taking great care of it to insure no problems 🙁

I ordered a Blue Microsoft Type Cover and received a Charcoal MoKo Bluetooth one. It has no physical connections on the area of the magnetic attachment points. It has an On-Off switch and a Mini USB connector (to recharge it) but no instructions came with it. It was awkward initially to figure out how to set up since searches did not reveal a manual. I processed a return then decided to dig into it further. After viewing a YouTube video review, I learned that it was Bluetooth connected and after working on connecting it, I was successful. The key action is much more like a conventional keyboard, it has all the keys, is not backlighted and has no warning that the Caps Lock key is on. It is slightly taller in the connection area so that the active task bar icons bars at the bottom of the icon can only be seen from certain angles. The page up and down keys are 1/2 of the left and right arrows which take a while to get used to. The good news is that it can be separated from the Surface and works up to 10M away. Great for PowerPoint presentations where the computer and projector are a distance away. You can connect a not included USB to Mini USB to charge it when not using it overnight. It should go 60 hours between charges. Only other point is that jumping between keyboard and touch screen often brings up the onscreen keyboard. One adjusts to it. at this point I’ll try it and if satisfied I’ll keep it.
