Insta360 ONE R Central Module
The Insta360 ONE R central module is the brain of the modular action camera system ONE R. It mounts with a lens module on the battery base module from side, both are sold separately, and provides a live touch screen. The core is also where a microSD card goes up to 256 GB for the ONE R system, which is also sold separately. It also supports the optional 3.5mm One R microphone adapter via a USB Type-C interface located next to the microSD card port on the side of the module behind the door cover. In addition to a live view, the display of the main module shows the remaining battery time and provides access to system settings ONE R.
The central module interacts differently with each lens module. When used with the 4K wide angle lens module, the live display can be set as front or back (back for vlogging). When used with the 360 mod lens module, the live screen can be pushed in all directions so you can see its recording from all angles and get a full 360 degree preview. While many other 360 cameras allow such preview only in a mobile app, the ONE R system offers both in the camera and in the complementary app.
