I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. My first impression of the freebuds 3 was the case was slightly big, but you forget about that after trying them out as the sound is amazing and they are such a comfortable fit in the ears. The noise cancelling is such a bonus and work really good, connecting them to your phone is so easy with a dedicated app to help you. I am a one brand guy but I am seriously thinking of changing my mind.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. I have many earphones and headphones of different quality and price points from £15 – £300 so feel I am in a good place to give an unbiased review. I was sceptical that ear buds could give a sound, comfort and noise cancellation that would rival my over ear headphones at twice the price . but they give them a good run for their money with the added portability.SoundThe sound quality is fantastic thanks to the 14mm speaker and I can pick out small background instruments in music that I never noticed before; it also has a very good bass that is unrivalled in the in ear market.ComfortGreat sounding only goes so far though, if they dont match the high sound quality with comfort. The Freebuds 3 are so light you forget they are there meaning I can wear them for hours, some overears make my ears hot and head hurts with the band after a while, I also have other earbuds that go right into the ear canal which means when you are speaking on the phone or eating you hear every sound like you are underwater.Noise CancellationYou can toggle NC on and off by a tap on the bud if you need to hear your surroundings more. Each earbud has two silicon microphones to cancel out the sound which makes for a more immersive listening experience especially during commutes on busy and loud public transport. This technology also doubles up to provide a much clearer call by blacking out the background noises and wind meaning there is no more shouting down the phone and trying to turn away from the wind whilst calling. Overears will still be better at isolating sound due to the fact you have a foam barrier isolating your ear but these still deliver on the NC better than I could have imaginedSummaryThese are very light, comfy, great sounding earbuds with a large 14mm speaker and noise reduction of this quality that is normally only found on over ear sound isolating headphones. If you want good quality sound with the convenience of slipping them into a charging case that fits in your pocket easily (About a 3rd of the size of a mobile) that can also be charged wirelessly either through a charging pad or reverse charging if you have a phone that supports it then the Freebuds 3 have exceeded my expectation and come with my recommendation.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased reviewFirstly, lets share the view that these are very apple esc in their design, the box they arrive in in small and compact with the freebuds already in the case / charger and there is a separate pouch with the USB-C cable which is used to charge them.Charging is simple and quick, with around 2 hours to a full charge from empty, but a quick 20-minute charge will give you around 4 hours usage. Using the noise cancelling option will reduce the battery life quicker than when disabled.Connecting to your phone is quite simple, you will need to download the AI Life app from Huawei and select the Freebuds 3, it will then show you the process of connecting up. If you have EMUI 10 setup is the same as the Apple Airpods, in that if you open the case next to the phone it will pop up to connect and show you the relevant battery status. Overall pairing was complete in just a couple of minutes. The app shows you the battery status of the case and each freebud. And allows you to control the noise cancelling feature (on / off and level). Now for the main event. Sound quality: with the noise cancelling off these sound like any standard set of headphones, good mid-range, limited bass and limited top end highs, but would compare nicely to any standard headphones provided with a phone such as those provided by Samsung, there is no tinny sound here, its quite an even sound set. If these were just a pair of headphones I would have no concerns recommending them, however because these are marketed as having noise cancelling, credit where it is due, this does work in some instances, for example if your sat on a train, or near a fan or microwave where the sound is the same constant sound this is partially cancelled out (you can still hear it but it is reduced), however if youre in a noisy environment for example an office where people talk, or a train station with announcements you will always hear this regardless of whether the noise cancellation is on or off. You can turn this off in the app, or by double tapping the left earpiece (you receive a voice confirmation that this has happened). I can understand why as they arent fully fitted to your ear so it would be difficult to block out all sound when its not enclosing your ears like over the head ones. With noise cancelling on you will notice a reduction in battery life. Tapping the right earpiece by default will skip the currently playing trackComfort wise you could easily forget these are in your ears, theyre very light and comfortable, and even when exercising they refuse to move or fall out.Call wise, there is a microphone on both tips, calls were clear and the people I was on calls with said they could hear me clearly, despite being outside in some poor weather conditions so a big win here.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.Firstly, this is going to be a quick, to the point review – Im not going to go into useless details. 3 reasons why you should:1. They sound the part! Seriously, the sound quality on these earbuds is astonishing given the fact that they are IN EAR BUDS – the range of sound, including high, mid and low end (although low to a slightly lesser degree) is very, very impressive. The sound is better than my over ear headphones that cost a similar amount a few years ago so that shows just how far Huawei have been able to push this technology.2. They look the part! Obviously these do look VERY similar to a more famous line of earphones made by a rather ‘fruity’ competitor, but given that they are thought of as being desirable and cool then that is no bad thing.3. They go the distance! The battery life on the earbuds is really, really good. I have had these playing a mix of loud music and radio for a whole afternoon and there was still plenty of life in the earbuds – but if you do get low, just place them back inside the case for a few minutes and you will be juiced up in no time – for most people there would be around a week of listening time from one charge.Obviously these also come with noise cancelling – to be honest i’m not a great fan of this feature, but these have it and it does work, so thats another bonus I guess!Bad points are:1. They could be cheaper as expensive at full RRP .2. The case itself gets scratched easily (i would recommend buying a neoprene cover for the case to keep it looking fresh); and3. You get to realise just how badly mixed or mastered some tracks really are….which has been rather depressing at times!Overall these are great earbuds, especially if you can find them on offer, and I like them so much that I convinced my brother not to go ‘fruity’ and buy a pair too.

The most impressive feature is the noise cancellation which cut out background noise, satisfied me much when commuting on tube without any network but only listening to music. The tap-tap for turning on and off is interesting. Design amd wireless charging is awesone, sound quality very good, definitely recommend.

I have previously owned Bluetooth/Wireless over-ear headphones. I bought these having heard about them and having the opportunity to get them at a discount in exchange for an honest review. The key elements of the Freebuds are; Bluetooth, battery life, sound quality, noise cancellation and value for money. Bluetooth: connecting the Freebuds was easy and is really only required once. After the initial connection is made, it is simply a case of removing them from the charging case and placing them in your ears. Battery life: Hard to say how good this is compared to other current brands, however, compared to my older Sennheiser headphones, battery life seems very good thanks to the charging case. Sound quality: its good – but here is where I was left wanting… I was expecting something quite impressive! When the Apple EarPods are now selling for less than the RRP for this product, considering HUAWEI are not renowned in this space, I was expecting fireworks to justify the cost – but I was left completely unexcited… not disappointing sound, just nothing out of the ordinary. Noise cancellation: I had noise cancellation on the headphones I had before and it was fine. Given the small size of these Freebuds, I wasn’t expecting much. I used the function (with a nifty double-tap on my left ear) on the train one day and thought its fine!. However, I have just stepped off a flight and that gave me the perfect chance to truly test the intelligent noise cancellation – this time, I was impressed! The Freebuds made the incessant background drone of the plane all but disappear and made for quite pleasant flying conditions for me. Value for money: ok – so heres the thing! How can I rate the value for money for these anything more than poor when the sound is fine and the battery life is as expected and the noise cancellation, albeit impressive as it is, simply works. None of this is to say that there is anything wrong with the Freebuds – just very hard to justify a cost of £169.99 (RRP) when there are many cheap ones that range from £20-50 that claim to do the same – and reviews for these seem to suggest that they deliver on the claims.Ultimately, these are very very good headphones. If you want good sound and noise-cancellation, these have you covered.
