    So far thoroughly unimpressed with this given the cost, my 5 year old Asus router (with no mesh or extenders) provided better signal, reliability and performance and cost £110. I’ll start with the positive, the setup process is very good, app works well, easy to understand and up and running quickly. But since then it has been downhill, constant signal drops, poor performance, errors reported on the mesh despite trying several different locations for the 2nd wifi point. The docs suggest 1 point can handle a 1500 SQ FT house, with 2 handling up to 3000, mine is roughly 1300 SQ FT and 2 are not even coming close, in fact from what I have seen so far I would need a wifi point in every room of the house which is not very cost effective at £100+ per point. If things do not improve this week (I have posted on the Google forum too) then I will be seeking a refund, very disappointed.

    These routers have some lovely features like being able to turn off an individual device (great for children). And also one seamless wifi coverage area with no more choosing the best router and having to change it in settings. However you need a lot of them. I have a 5 bed house with about 4000 sq ft and so far I have 4 but I think 5 would be better. They are annoyingly not super fast. Although the test on the google app shows 50 Mb/s DL there is no way I get this and when I switch to an Ethernet straight off my BT fibre hub I can really see the difference. So to be scientific about this I just did a test. The app tested Internet Speed at 50 DL and 9.5 UL and and speedtest.net at 51 & 10.4. However when downloading a film, on the Google Wifi it took 29 seconds to download 100mb (so a 4gb film would take about 20 minutes) whereas on my Ethernet (ie no Wifi) it took 13 seconds so a 4gb film would take less than 10 minutes
