Beautiful clear bright image – not disappointed at all with the overall quality. The only downside was the image stabiliser – this doesn’t seem as effective as the one on my DSLR, though this could be me, as I have no other experience with image stabilised binoculars.

  4. Willy du Sundgau

Simply superb binoculars. Store them horizontally when not in use!

  5. Dr. Mark W. Tebbit

If you have a need for powerful binos at home or in the car these may be for you. However their weight is such that they are impractical for carrying any great distance unless you are very dedicated.

  6. Mr. S. C. Simmons

Love em. I use them in the back garden to spot aircraft, sad I know. But I can see aircraft so far off know, and also the detail, wow!! wish I had had them years ago.

  7. Stefan Heisig

Excellent item. The stabilising button is a dream, very light touch to click on and off and is flush with the top of the binoculars. They are quite heavy but not too heavy to make easy use of. If the weight was a problem there is the fitment/screw thread for a tri or mono-pod to be attached. The recipient is very pleased with them.

The material of construction is brittle compared with other bins. Be careful not to drop them. If the case is cracked condensation can form inside partly blocking the image.

Absolutely brilliant binocs. I purchased during the Canon spring cashback so even mor pleased to have saved £170.oo. Yes they are quite heavy, but very nice bright image.

I bought these for bird watching, star gazing and for hiking. The magnification is comfortable enough even when looking at close subjects and the focus is nice and smooth to change. The image stabiliser button will toggle the IS on or off and you can tell which state it is in by looking at an LED beside the button which is handy. It will also switch off to save power after I think 5mins or so.These are pretty heavy binoculars and they are certainly large enough that you wouldn’t really take them out with you on a hike for example unless you really thought you were going to want to use them. They feel very comfortable to hold and feels very solid. As other users have said, the eye cups are quite hard and to get a comfortable eye relief you either have to push them in a few mm which hurts slightly or roll the eye cups back and hold them slightly away from your eyes which is annoying. I have found a way to make it more comfortable but it’s still slightly annoying. The rear caps are complete junk and come off all the time in the bag (I am considering just not using them) and there were no front caps which is just bizarre for such an expensive piece of equipment (even the cheapest Canon lenses come with decent caps). In saying that, I am using two 58mm caps from canon lenses that do the job really nicely and keep the front protected. The bag is alright but it only has a small badly stuck on felt material disk to stop the back of the clip (on the inside of the case) from scratching the binoculars. There is no belt loop or neck strap for the bag so you would have to use the thin binocular strap which wouldn’t be too nice for carrying around. I just put the case in my bag until I need to use it.Not the quickest method of being able to use the binoculars for bird watching etc.. but there isn’t really another way with the case as is.It does the job but it’s just not great. With the image stabilisation off the optics are really sharp and really brings out the life and depth of whatever you are looking at. With IS on, it is just incredible, you can pick out so much detail without shake and looking at the moon handheld with depth was just incredible. When IS is on, the is a slight softness that is noticeable during usage, especially if panning but the overall effect of the stabilisation far outweighs the small loss in sharpness and chromatic aberration that become visible.Overall I am really happy with these binoculars but I do feel they are quite expensive value wise.
