Sharp images, easy to focus and optical image stabilization works like a charm.

As advertised, these 15 power binoculars give a bright crisp stable image. They are heavy but feel well balanced in my hands. The stabilization button is right at a fingertip. I am 68 years old but had no problem bringing both lenses to focus with none of the ‘flicker’ effect I have found in less expensive binoculars. When scanning a landscape there is no panning distortion. Perfect crisp images of the Moon are routine. I did see some blur on the edges of Jupiter, but I believe that is due to my eyes rather than the binoculars, given that all other observations have been razor sharp. I don’t find them too heavy to carry around my neck for two hour walks and have enjoyed excellent views of various wildlife including hawks, deer and coyotes. They are well worth the money to me.

These stablised 15x magnification binoculars are great for long-distance bird watching or star gazing and represent a significant improvement over non-stablised binoculars. They can also be tripod mounted for hands-free operation and the object lenses are threaded to accept filters and lens hoods.I am delighted with these binoculars and recommend them to anyone seeking the maximum performance from a single pair of binoculars.

They work great, but they’re big and heavy. So much so that you won’t want to use them very often.I started with these. Then I got the 10x42L – far lighter and smaller. Used them a lot more. Finally I tried the 10×30 (also Canon IS). MUCH lighter and smaller. Use them all the time.Unless you REALLY need the 15x and 50mm, get the smaller, lighter model. (They’re cheaper, too.)

The pros Purchased these for use on our boat. They definitely are an improvement over unstabilized binoculars. It is still work to hold them still enough while using them on a boat. When you can though you can see more detail that unstabilized binoculars. Cons. They don’t last. We always kept them stored in a safe dry place and after 4 years they no longer work. The rubber on the eye pieces are sticky. I sent them to Canon Factory Service for repair. They said they could repair them for $1236. $250 more than the cost for a new pair. If i did not want to repair them Canon has a Loyalty program. Through the Loyalty program I could purchase a new pair for $1600. Yes for their loyal customers they offer higher than retail prices. It should be called the Loyalty Reduction program because that is what it accomplishes. If your okay spending $1000 for disposable binoculars these will work just don’t count on more than 3 years.

Well, they work and work well.Quite amazing how much difference the stabilisation makes to the image. With it switched off I wonder how anyone can use non-stabilised binoculars at higher magnifications.Would recommend……
