This little unit packs a powerful and high quality punch. I bought solely on the reviews that I found on-line, and I am extremely pleased with the build quality – the fact that it’s waterproof ( although it doesn’t float on water) and if caught in the rain you know that the device won’t be ruined. Charging is quite fast via a micro usb cable (supplied) and the volume is adequate for my needs. The casing is a contoured and sleek silicone covering that protects it against bumps and the odd drops and I have every confidence that it will be reliable in the performance department for some time. I’ve now ordered a 2nd unit to take advantage of it’s ability to wirelessly pair together for full stereo sound – and I’m advised that there’s a bonus of increased volume when paired. This device has an ideal small footprint to discreetly hide in our conservatory whilst banging out Fairytale in New York for the umpteenth time. I love it, I recommend it and well done Bose.

Did a lot off research on this after the rechargeable battery in my last Bluetooth speaker – a £30 Blaupunkt – died and I couldn’t recharge it anymore or replace it! This happened after really not a lot of use, so wanted to take more care over my next investment. This comes highly recommended and for the most part I have to agree. The sound is incredible for such a small speaker and it goes loud enough for most casual listening purposes. I would appreciate another notch or two on the volume, as maximum is sometimes just a little short but for it’s size it is incredible. My last one was 3x the size of this and for that reason I can see it getting used a whole lot more. This now lives in my backpack (taking up very little space) which has all my ’emergency’ stuff in it and goes everywhere! I only discovered yesterday (after a few days use) that my new phone had an EQ setting turned on by default that was reducing the bass and it still sounded good! Once I turned that off it has a very full sound. Stick it in a corner or next to a wall if you need even more bass and to fill a room. The mid-range for me is a little muddy/confused but I am an audio professional and probably more fussy than most. For a small speaker this is simply ridiculous and very enjoyable to listen to. Yes, its more expensive than some of similar size but I’m not disappointed having spent that money.Oh, maybe an aux jack would be a useful addition, so it’s only that, being very slightly under-powered volume-wise and the more hefty price tag that loses it a star.

I own several Bluetooth speakers and wanted something I can take on holiday. Small compact and beach ready. I was viewing a review on YouTube one evening and bought it afterwards. Upon arrival I updated the firmware. Best to connect the speaker to a PC and upgrade via Bose website which is fully automated instead off he app. The app was showing 1h20mins for the upgrade vs 5 mins via laptop. The sound is very good and full even at lower listening levels. This thing pumps some serious base out of such small package. Crank it up and the bass reduces slightly to compensate for the overall clearness of the sound but still impressive and compared to my JBL charge this is way better in terms of sound.Charging is super quick as well and the battery lasts forever which I cant say about the BO A1 which I returned after getting 1,5h out of it.The stereo feature I have yet to try as I might get a second one down the road. Cant still apprehend how good the sound is. Well done Bose. Finally something from this brand that is worthy of the price tag.One thing I would have liked would be a USB-C charging port rather than micro USB but thats probably my personal opinion.

Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker – BlackSound is decent for a little unit.Better than I expected – and ideal weight and size for throwing into my backpack.A couple of things to be aware of.The software downloaded to my iPhone auto updated the Firmware – so I have no idea how it worked before. If its paired to a laptop and you power off the laptop and the BOSE. When you power on the laptop; the BOSE turns itself on and the voice connected belts out of the BOSE. This despite the BOSE having been powered off. It gets overridden and you cant stop it; other than remove the Bluetooth connection to the laptop. Not ideal – and this is one of a number of issues owners are complaining about. Also – When paired to a laptop and perhaps you are listening to music or youtube sound through the BOSE. You can not use the BOSE volume controls to up or down the volume; it has to be done on the laptop.I have only kept this BOSE because of decent sound. I have a different type speaker but not BOSE; and none of the above issues are apparent. Its a BOSE thing. Seems its not only on this model either; there are numerous accounts across a number of the BOSE Models.Like I say – I don’t know if the above are as a result of the Firmware upgrade; I suspect it is. But you may want to test the above before you upgrade the Firmware.Caveat emptorMartin

This is exactly what Bose claim, the best sounding speaker for its size. In fact i prefer this to many other speakers physically bigger and ought to be outclassing its tiny form factor. Obviously you are paying a little for the Bose name and quality, which i think is fair enough, but with that you get their sound signature, which does make for a pleasant EQ that doesn’t leave any holes across the spectrum the way others do in exaggerated upper bass or scooped mids. Normally i really dislike ‘mono boxes’ however good they are but i dont find that with this one at all, surprisingly. I did find that however with its bigger brother (the soundlink colour ii). I think the DSP has been really well tuned and this good EQ is definitely all contributing to that. Now please don’t expect to have the bass blow your mind, of course there are physical limitations that even Bose cant work around (yet!) but regardless you’ll find it hard not to smile at the performance when the bassline drops. What makes this so wonderful for me, as i travel an awful lot, is the size and weight. There is almost no excuse not to throw it in your bag however little you are traveling with, and the battery life is plenty enough at 6 hours. The magic in this unit is when you’re chilling out and just have it sat in the room on the table. Many times now ive found myself enjoying the music i listen to at a comfortable volume whilst browsing the internet on my phone and completely forgetting its there. Then when i look up and see how tiny it is, and just how pleasing and full the sound is, i feel totally reassured about my purchase, ie NO buyer’s regret! A little trick in any room if you want to increase the bass is actually to place it in the corner of the room, those low frequencies will suddenly boom a really eye-opening amount, try it if you don’t believe me 😉 The fact that you can run two of them in stereo has my purchase finger twitching again, ill be honest. And hey, its ClickElectronics, you can always return it (if you need that final push to press the order button – yes im talking to you!) but im pretty this great little bluetooth speaker will be on a one way journey to yours..

Excitedly received the Bose Soundlink Mini as wanted a good quality great sounding shower speaker (I normally listen to music on my I phone 7 resting on the toilet cistern). It looked a quality item out of the box so I plugged it in to charger cable and linked up the phone and speaker using bluetooth (all very straightforward and easy).I then selected a track and pressed play……….what the hell is this noise?!!The bass sounds were so distorted and the trebles sounded distant. I played around with the equalizer settings on the phone and tried all the different settings and still the poor sound kept coming. I know Gary Barlow isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but even so he deserves better than this speaker!! (sorry a little joke there – I didn’t listen to Gary :-D).The distortion just made listening unbearable, turning the volume down did help a little but then that defeats the object of getting a shower speaker as the voIume was so low that you wouldn’t be able to hear it whilst having a shower. Its been out of the box no more than 10 minutes and I’ve already repackaged and delivered it back via the post office for a refund.By way of comparison I have a Sonos Play 1 that I use in the kitchen and that was only £50 more expensive but the sound from that is light years ahead compared to this Bose effort. However, the Sonos is not suitable for the shower room as it needs to be plugged into the mains. In summary……a very Poor speaker for the money and I’m looking forward to receiving my refund.PS Any recommendations from anyone for better suitable shower speakers would be sppreciated.

Great sound, horrible battery life

I was going to give this 4 stars because it’s not perfect, but it’s far better than 4 out of 5 so I thought 5 stars was more fair.Considering it’s size, the sound of this speaker is absolutely remarkable. I’m using it for casual listening in hotel rooms while traveling and it gives a very listenable sound with a very full but natural bass – better than a typical TV or even cheap mini system (though of course it’s not stereo unless you shell out for two). There are plenty of speakers that can offer a lot of bass but it’s very forced and boomy; the Bose isn’t like that at all. Of course if you were trying to have a party I’m sure you would struggle to get high SPL from it, but that’s true of any battery-powered speaker.I have only two minor complaints. The first is that the sound is a bit too bass-heavy and could do with more treble. I’m not sure if this is a consequence of the waterproof design or just that they were trying to distance themselves from the tinny-ness of listening to music on a mobile phone speaker, but IMHO they have gone a bit too far and made it a bit dull. By using some software jiggery-pokery on my laptop I was able to get both the bose and the tinny built-in speakers playing at the same time and that gave a more balanced result. The second gripe is that it isn’t really stable when stood on its end (i.e. with the speaker facing outwards horizontally). You can balance it in that position but it has a tendency to fall over. There’s just no excuse for this other than to maintain the “pebble” aesthetic of the shape. You can lean it against something but this tends to tip the balance even further towards the bass end, so I’d prefer to have it a few inches away from the rear wall.In spite of these, I’m really chuffed with it. it’s an amazing piece of engineering.

Considering its size, the sound is impressive. I’ve heard many speakers this size or even bigger that sound thin and have little bass. I don’t know how Bose do it, but this does have a surprisingly good bass and the overall sound is very good. The size is just about right for a portable speaker.Operating it is very easy and it’s simple to pair. If you have multiple devices connected to it, you can control those connections further with the Bose Connect app. Switching it on and off, it a simple press of a button. You also have the usual volume up and down and pause/play/skip button. Battery life is good. I’ve not ran it to 0% but I used it for five hours once and it got down to 20%.It has a rubberized feel to it, which gives it a bit of a rugged feel. It also has a strap on the back which allows you to attach it to bags, bikes etc. I also like the waterproof feature, so you don’t have to worry about getting it wet and can take it into a humid bathroom or even the shower without worrying if you’ll damage it.If you’ve got £100 to spend on a Bluetooth speaker, I don’t think you’ll get anything better than this.

Decent sound – Some things to be aware of before you spend.
