    Well I’ve only just got it, and taken just a few test shots, but I’m very impressed. The lens is remarkably small and light, and constructed differently from other Canon EOS lenses. A small hood (supplied) screws directly on and the cap fits on to that. A protection filter is not supplied, but that would also fit directly on to the hood (49mm. If you want to get one) and the cap would fit on to that. Take the hood off and you can use the fitted LED lights, which you can set at 2 different strengths and left or right only or both. Shots taken from just a few centimetres away are easy to focus, both auto and manual, and very sharp. The lens has image stabilisation.The real advantage, as far as I’m concerned is the size and weight. Every other macro lens I’ve come across has been huge. This one will happily sit in my camera bag, just in case I come across a flower or a bug while I’m out shooting landscapes. Early days, but I’m very impressed.

    This lens is amazing. Auto focus and Manual focus works great. The light on the lens is a really nice touch. Really brightens up dark areas. These pictures are my first few trys at macro.

    Not a bad macro lens for the price. Images are not 1:1 ratio but very close. I would recommend this lens to those individuals (like me) who don’t have thousands of dollars to spend.
