    I wanted a 50mm prime to use on my canon 5D to take portraits. Having read reviews for a few months this f1.8 was consistently rated the best for the money. The f1.4 (£400) and f1.2 (£1200) do give marginally better images but overall I would say this lens is more than adequate for a serious amateur. As can be seen from the photos of my grandson Charlie a head and shoulders portrait has tremendous depth. Highly recommended lens.

    Acquistato per un regalo di Natale alla mia ragazza, appassionata di foto, pacco arrivato correttamente ed integro. L’obiettivo è perfetto per ritratti, con poca profondità di campo. Lo scatto è veloce e lo apprezzo molto, e davvero molto luminoso. Si comporta bene anche in scatti in luoghi chiusi e con poca luce.Per scatti in esterna è perfetto.

    I took the photo above with this lens and I think the quality is great. I’ve used this lens for portraits, landscapes, wildlife and just general day to day and it’s been really good. The only real limitation is getting big pictures close up, I would definitely pair this lens with a wide angle lens if you’re going out photographing.I’d say really good value for money and if I could only have one lens it would probably be this one.
